What we're all about
You'll get a good idea about Bright Wonders Preschool from reading below. But please feel free to call or text with any questions. We also suggest a visit to the classroom.

Our Name
Truly, kids learn and grow because of a built-in bit of WONDER. They have a natural curiosity to explore and try. They are BRIGHT, every one of them, and it’s my job to develop their capabilities. It’s a thrill to figure them out. Figure out where they’re at, what they need and what makes them excited to learn...they are a wonder...a BRIGHT WONDER!
Developmentally Appropriate Practice
We use a play-based learning approach. Teaching through strategic play allows us to build the skills and foundation kids need, without stress and discouragement. For example; before they are expected to write their names, they'll get the necessary muscle control needed by playing with play-dough and clothespin games. And they'll get familiar with letter creation in a more playful way like fingers in peanut butter paint. Then they’re ready write with confidence! Play is used in large group time, small group time, homework kits, one-on-one instruction and of course, free-play time!
Free Play
Just as important as teacher led instruction, is free play time. When they have free play, they are choosing their own learning. This creates deep engagement and positive outcomes. The learning environment is set up to stimulate curiosity and skills and to reinforce our academic lessons and goals. We work with the children during their free play time to direct learning and social skills. Free play is so important to their growth and development, that my class times are 2 hours 30 min. long to ensure that they get plenty of it. (3yr old class is less time with the same idea).
Official Jargon
At Bright Wonders Preschool we follow the developmentally appropriate guidelines set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and focus on the goals of Utah’s Early Childhood Core Standards. That’s a lot of words but in case you were wondering...😉
Miss Lindsay (Head Teacher)

My professional years as an early childhood educator includes 5 years with Mountainland HeadStart and 2 years as a teacher for the Colorado Preschool Program (part of the Colorado Dept. of Education). I helped grow the HeadStart Homebase Program as well as taught and led the program that educates parents in home teaching. (I firmly believe parents are the first and most influential teachers). As well as my educational background in Elementary Education, I have a Certificate of Child Development from the NAEYC. I taught all of my children to read at age 4 and if that is a goal of yours, together we can make it happen.
